Sell coins through an auction platform

A platform sale is a catalog of your coins for an outside auction site. You add coins as lots in the weeks before the sale. Then you export a file that the platform can upload.

The platforms are LiveAuctioneers, HiBid, GreatCollections, Proxibid, Invaluable, Bidspirit, Bidsquare and Other platform.

Make a sale

  1. Go to Platform sales.
  2. Click New sale.
  3. Choose the Platform, the Sale date and a Name.
  4. Choose how you sell:
  • I run the auction: buyers pay your buyer's premium. Results become an invoice for each buyer.
  • I consign coins to the platform: the platform keeps the buyer's premium. Results become one invoice to the platform, less its fees.
  1. Type the Buyer's premium and the Platform fee. The app uses them when the results report has no premium or fee column.
  2. Turn on The platform collects payment when buyers pay the platform. Imported invoices are then recorded as paid.
  3. Click Create sale.

Add coins as lots

From the sale page, click Add coins.

You can also add coins from Coins:

  1. Select the coins.
  2. Click Add to platform sale.
  3. Choose an open sale, or click New sale.
  4. Click Add lots.

Lots keep their numbers after export. A coin that you add later gets the next number, or a letter after a lot. To put a coin after a lot, open the lot menu and click Add a coin after this lot.

Export the lots

  1. On the sale page, click Export.
  2. Choose the lots: New lots, New and changed lots or All lots.
  3. Choose the Platform and the File layout (CSV or Excel).
  4. Choose Download now, or choose Schedule and a time.
  5. Click the export button. It shows the number of lots, such as Export 12 lots. For a schedule, click Schedule export.

A scheduled export shows on Scheduled runs. You get a notification when the file is ready. Some platforms take photo files named by lot number. For these, click Build photo package and upload the package with the file.

Change a lot after export

Open the lot menu on the sale page:

  • Edit lot changes the lot. Export New and changed lots to send the change.
  • Withdraw lot takes out a lot that you exported. Withdraw it on the platform too. A lot that you did not export shows Delete lot.
  • Reserve met records that bidding met the reserve. The coin comes off every other channel.

Close the sale

  1. Open the more actions menu.
  2. Click Close sale.

The coins can then go into another sale, and you can still import results. See Import platform sale results.
