Consign coins to GreatCollections and import the results
Updated
GreatCollections takes consignments on its coin consignment form. CoinManagerPro makes the item lines for that form from your coins. When the coins sell, you import the results report, and the app records the sales.
You need the Manage listings permission to make sales and to review results.
Make a GreatCollections sale
- Go to Platform sales.
- Click New sale.
- In Platform, select GreatCollections. Enter the Sale date and a Name.
- Select I consign coins to the platform. GreatCollections keeps the buyer's premium, and the results become one invoice to GreatCollections, less its fees.
- Enter the Platform fee. The app uses it when the results report has no fee column.
- Turn on The platform collects payment. The imported invoice is then recorded as paid.
- Click Create sale.
Add coins to the sale
- On the sale page, click Add coins.
- Select the coins. Each coin becomes one line.
- Click Add lots.
You can also select coins on Coins and click Add to platform sale.
Export the item lines
- On the sale page, click Export.
- Select New lots.
- Select the File layout: CSV or Excel.
- Click the export button, for example Export 250 lots.
The file has these columns for the consignment form:
- Line
- Quantity
- Grading Service
- Certification Number
- Grade
- Description
- Minimum Bid
- Your Reference: the coin's SKU, so you can match each line to a coin.
Send the lines to GreatCollections with its consignment form.
Import the results
When the coins sell, download the results report from GreatCollections.
- Open the sale in Platform sales.
- Click Import results.
- Drop the file in the box. The file can be CSV, Excel or JSON.
- Read the counts: Rows, Sold, Unsold and Needs review.
- When a column does not match, click Edit columns and select the correct column.
- Click the record button, for example Record 230 sold.
The app makes one invoice to GreatCollections for the hammer prices, less its fees. The sold coins go out of stock.
Forward the results email
Instead of uploading the file, you can forward the results email.
- On the sale page, find the Results box.
- Click the copy button to copy the email address of the sale.
- Forward the results email to this address. Send it from the email address that you use to sign in.
- Make sure that the report is attached as CSV or Excel.
Check rows that need review
A row waits for a check when its lot is unknown, its quantity does not match, it is a duplicate, or the hammer is below the reserve.
- Go to Results review.
- Click a row to open it.
- Select the lot. Check the quantity, the hammer and the platform fee.
- Click Record result.
To record several rows as they are, select them and click Record as shown. To skip rows, select them and click Dismiss.
Coins that did not sell
Coins that did not sell go back to stock. You can add them to your next sale, or list them on eBay with a new start price.
