Add coins to your inventory
Updated
Each coin in CoinManagerPro has a record with its grade, cost, value and photos. You can add a coin in two ways:
- Add coin opens a form in five steps.
- Quick add opens a short form on one page.
You need the Edit coins permission to add coins.
Add a coin with the Add coin form
The form has five steps: Basic information, Attributes, Cost and value, Photos and Review.
- Go to Coins.
- Click Add coin.
- In Basic information, fill in the coin. You can use one of these methods:
- Drop a photo of the coin or the slab on Identify the coin from a photo. The app reads the label and fills in the fields.
- In Certificate, select the grading service, enter the certificate number, and click Look up.
- Click Scan to read the slab barcode with the camera.
- Select the Category. Enter a Title. The title is necessary.
- Click Next. In Attributes, enter the Coin type, for example Morgan Dollar.
- Click Next. In Cost and value, enter the Cost ($) and the Value per coin ($). You can also enter the Date acquired and Acquired from.
- Click Next. In Photos, add up to 12 photos. Use JPEG, PNG or WebP files of 15 MB or smaller.
- Click Review. Check the details. To change a section, click Edit on that section.
- Click Add coin.
The app opens the page of the new coin.
Add a coin with Quick add
- Go to Coins.
- Click Quick add.
- Add photos. The first photo fills in the coin.
- Enter the certificate number, or click Look up or Scan.
- Enter the Title, Cost ($), Value per coin ($), Quantity and Grade.
- To add the Category, SKU, Year, Coin type, Description or other fields, click More details.
- Click Add coin.
When you leave SKU empty, the app makes a SKU for the coin.
What a photo read costs
- When the photo shows a slab barcode, the app reads the barcode and looks up the certificate.
- When the photo has no barcode, the AI reads the coin. Each AI read costs 5 credits.
- When you do not have enough credits, the app asks you to buy credits. You can also fill in the details by hand.
For a raw coin, leave the certificate empty.
When the value looks wrong
The value is for one coin, not for all the coins in the quantity. When the value per coin looks like the total of a lot, the app shows Check the value per coin before it saves the coin.
- Read the value again.
- To correct it, change Value per coin ($).
- To save the value as it is, click Keep this value.
Next steps
- To add many coins at once, photograph a tray in Photo intake, or import a spreadsheet.
- To record where a coin is and who has it, see Check coins out and in.
